Our Story

It all started with a wedding.

Kristie Patterson, who had been running her housing development company for the past 15 years, recognized a significant need in the market when her daughter, Lauren, became engaged and was searching for wedding venues. Lauren could not seem to find the non-traditional, industrial style venue she was dreaming of. Kristie realized that her daughter wasn’t alone; there were many clients looking for a non-traditional event venue flexible enough to accommodate all kinds of functions as well as professionally operated and equipped with modern amenities. 

With style in mind, Kristie began her search for the perfect commercial property. In late 2016 she and her husband, Will, purchased the facility located at 1100 Our Ladys Way, Ashland, KY. The building, which had been sitting vacant for many years, was previously used as headquarters for Ashland Oil Inc, a widely known oil company that began here in Ashland, KY. Kristie not only saw the potential but also loved the rich history of the building and knew that it could add great value to the community if restored.

After purchasing the space, Kristie set her vision of a non-traditional wedding venue into motion. After 2 years of design and renovation, Venue at The Edge became what it is today! Located on the second floor of the facility, the venue space has achieved the perfect loft style, non-traditional venue she was hoping for. The main venue space is 6,300 square feet with beautiful distressed brick and wood walls, rustic metal accents, refinished concrete floors, and high-end amenities. Kristie brought on her daughter, Lauren & Son-In-Law, Aaron to help manage the venue alongside her and offer clients an incredible team that is passionate about helping them create their dream event!

"How many guests does your venue accommodate?"

Because we offer both Basic and All-Inclusive packages, the deposit varies depending on the package you choose to book. For our Basic Wedding Packages, we require a 50% deposit. For our All-Inclusive Wedding Packages, we require a 34% deposit.

What is the deposit requirement for booking?

Our venue is absolutely handicap accessible! Our main entry doors have handicap accessible buttons for automatic open. We have an elevator for easy access to the second floor. We also have several wheelchairs and walkers available to guests should they be needed. 

Is your venue handicap accessible?

Yes. We have 2 wedding party suites available for you and your entire wedding party to get ready on wedding day!

Does Venue at The Edge have a place for us to get ready?

Absolutely! We have several beautiful outdoor photo locations around Venue at The Edge. Almost all of our couples take photos outside during their wedding day. Our venue staff would be happy to point out our favorites at your in-person tour!

Does Venue at The Edge have outdoor photo locations?

Yes, your rental comes included with tables & chairs. Our staff will schedule you for a 30 day walkthrough where you will tell us how you would like your tables and chairs set up. Once we have a preferred layout from you, our staff will have everything set up and ready to go when you arrive to decorate!

"This is the largest space hands down.

Sooooo many venues tell brides they can hold 300 and I swear they should max out at 150. Way too tight! The venue has more than one room available at different prices and crowd capacities. I think their max is 500 in their largest room and I promise it could hold that comfortably!"
